Star Wars Commander Thorn
I'm buddies with Commander Thorn and he was so excited to see all the love people had for his armor build. The troops in this group photo represent a small part of the Southern California Garrison - 501st Legion.

Thorn was a clone trooper commander who served the Galactic Republic in the Grand Army of the Republic'sCoruscant Guard during the Clone Wars. He carried a Z-6 rotary blaster cannon that he called the 'Hammer.'
BiographyEdit
- 'What is it, Commander Thorn?'
'We're under attack by the Separatist garrison. Looks to be a full invasion!'
'Invasion?'
'We can't get to you! I suggest you get to a ship as soon as you can!' - ―Padmé Amidala is warned by Thorn, only moments prior to the Separatist invasion of Scipio[src]
In 20 BBY, Thorn and a group of his shock troopers escorted Senator Amidala to the planet Scipio to negotiate in bringing the Banking Clans to the Republic from the Separatists. However, soon after Thorn and his men find a Separtist invasion force heading straight toward them then alerting Senator Amidala of the attack ahead and readying his men for the fight ahead.
With deadly speed and accuracy, droid bombers shot down the gunships and the Consular-class cruiser, leaving the Shock Troopers with no reinforcements. As Thorn and his men rushed toward the entrance of the neutral zone, droid gunships then entered the firefight and blocked Thorn's path in the front and the landing pad behind him, cutting down his troopers and deploying commando and super battle droids. Another gunship released droids behind them, catching Thorn's squad in a crossfire. Surrounded, but not defeated, the Guard held their ground against the droids in a last effort. After all his men were killed, Thorn kept fighting, using his 'Hammer' as a melee and long range weapon. However, he was greatly outnumbered, and was shot multiple times in the chest until he was finally killed by a commando droid.[1]
EquipmentEdit
Thorn sported the Coruscant Guard's standard red colors, but with wing designs on his helmet. He also had a kama and black visor. Thorn utilized a DC-15S blaster as well as had holsters for pistols, but he favored his chaingun, 'The Hammer,' which had 'the Hammer' written on its side in Aurebesh.
Behind the scenesEdit
Thorn was created by Dave Filoni and the story team of Star Wars: The Clone Wars as an homage to the character Thor in Marvel Comics' 2012 movie The Avengers (which at the time of Thorn's unveilment had just been released), as the episodic director Steward Lee was the biggest Marvel fan among the Clone Wars crew. Filoni first revealed an image of Thorn on his Facebook page on May 14, 2012 and stated that the character would appear in The Clone Wars: Season Five, but the episode arc in which he appeared was moved to the sixth season.
